Penney Mosley (Clean Memphis Sweeps Coordinator), Walter Casey (Director of the Lester Community Center) & Kimberlee Richards (Clean Memphis Community Engagement Coordinator)

We love celebrating community leaders, and this month we are especially excited to celebrate one of our own: Penney Mosley!

Penney joined the Clean Memphis team a little over a year ago and has been doing a fantastic job leading cleanup crews around the city. We are grateful for her warm smile and enthusiastic spirit. You may have seen her around the city in our Clean Memphis truck, sporting her ever present Dallas Cowboys hat and doing her part to make Memphis cleaner and greener.

Recently, Penney saw a need for a beautification effort in her own neighborhood of Binghampton. She printed flyers, went door to door, and invited her neighbors to participate in a community cleanup. She planned and executed the entire event herself, and we are so proud to say it was a great success!

On Saturday, November 16, Penney and volunteers fanned out from Lester Community Center and collected 23 bags of litter weighing approximately 345 pounds! Afterwards, Penney’s brother grilled hot dogs for all the volunteers, many of whom were residents of Binghampton (including Mr. Walter Casey, director of the Lester Community Center).
